Catching up ... Spring Break Edition

So the Spring Break week went by in a flash ... full of fun, friends, family, the whole thing. Emma was slightly sick for part of the week ... never something totally debilitating, but she was a bit low on energy. The high point (or one of the high points) for her was losing one of her top middle teeth. She has at least one other loose tooth, so that means she won't have her hands out of her mouth (where they have been constantly lately ... wiggle, wiggle, wiggle) for a while still.

Wednesday, Cyndie and the kids went to a bounce house place for their fun activity. That night was my last bowling event of the year ... in true upper midwesterner fashion, I tried the "hook" (spinning the ball) and had pretty good results! It was a fun league, but kind of long (27 or so weeks!).

Thursday we went to the local (indoor) water park. Uncle Gow, Auntie Laura, Cousin Sally, and Grandpa D joined us. The kids had a blast, and were pooped by bed time.

Friday started the official Easter weekend, and the more concentrated family time. Auntie Jane and the cousins from Crystal Lake arrived at around 11 am. We had lunch, and then headed over to Auntie Karen's to help with the Good Friday service at her apartment building. The kids sang a song, and Gow, my mom, and I played guitar, piano, and bass. It was fun. Saturday was a birthday party for cousin Benny (5) in Crystal Lake, then Sunday was Easter at Anchor Covenant (our church), and tri-tip with the whole crew at our house.

Whew, it was a full weekend. The kids still have one more day off today, but it'll mostly be down time to recuperate and get rested for the re-commencement of school.
