The weekend that was ...
We did a lot of swimming, both at the lake and at Mom and Dad's pool. The kids started lake swimming lessons on Friday. Unfortunately, there are no lessons next week (July 4) and the week after Emma has day camp ... oh well, they're relatively cheap and last all summer. Amy and the kids came up in the afternoon and stayed through Saturday evening. We did the pool again on Saturday morning. It's nice and warm! Saturday late afternoon we went to a friend's house to hang out. It was a lot of ladies (and their husbands and kids) from the neighborhood group that Cyndie got involved with right when we moved here. It was interesting to get to know them a bit.
Sunday was church at Covenant Harbor (the YMCA where we normally meet was having the floors resurfaced). The worship team (me included) did both the Anchor Covenant (our church service) and the Covenant Harbor (the camp) service, so I was there all morning. Cyndie and the kids only came for the second service. We stayed around for the Anchor potluck after lunch. It was a pretty mellow afternoon and evening.
So, I think we're all caught up on the life and times of the Wildwood DeVries. The weather has been fairly cool the last several days. And since we've been back from California, the mosquitoes have really been out in force (less so when it's breezy).
